EasyCheck® – Fast & Accurate Varroa Monitoring

The EasyCheck® Varroa Mite Tester is a simple, reusable diagnostic tool designed to help beekeepers accurately monitor Varroa destructor mite levels within their colonies. Regular monitoring is an essential part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, allowing treatment decisions to be based on actual mite populations rather than guesswork.

EasyCheck is suitable for use with either the alcohol wash or powdered sugar shake method and provides reliable results in just a few minutes.

How to Use

  1. Collect approximately 300 bees (around half a cup) from a brood frame, avoiding the queen.
  2. Place the bees into the EasyCheck container.
  3. Add either alcohol or powdered sugar, depending on your preferred monitoring method.
  4. Gently rotate and shake the container following the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Count the mites collected and calculate the infestation level.
  6. Use the results to determine whether treatment is required based on current monitoring thresholds.
